It's been two years since the last incident, which broke my heart and even made me think about quitting AV. Finally, a documentary about the dark side of AV by a geeky guy has been revived!
The film in question was actually shot in the spring of 2022, and its release was delayed for over a year due to a number of circumstances. In the end, the two actresses who had been dubbed "phenomenal newcomers" for releasing 100 works in their first three months were dropped, and further filming was canceled due to a wave of new pornography laws.
The theme of the film is the dignity of AV actresses. The film also explores the mental stress of AV actresses surrounding the fan business and the hierarchical order among actresses such as '単体女優(Single Actress)', '企画単体女優(Planning solo actress, kikatan)' and '企画女優(Planning Actress)'.
The filming began with a conflict between a former single actress and an independent actress over the hierarchical relationship between them. It goes on to a full course of interviews with tomboy men and officials, park dates, meals, oral sex, and sex. It shows the inner lives of the actresses through long encounters where they have serious conversations, but the true ending of the piece will be known in five years, when we'll know if their conversations were sincere or just pretense to gain fame.
With the title of "AV actress," they have quite a few options to make a living. These days, everyone's masturbating to themselves on fan sites, and as long as they only sell dirty pictures to their fans, they'll be safe in retirement. If the selling of panty videos, which was popular when cameras were first installed on mobile phones, is also considered AV, then the term ‘AV corruption’ carries more weight.
In an AV world where just being naked can get you fame, will you be a fame-hungry stimulus? Will we remain creators, or will we become "ex-AV people" who survive by monetizing dignity, secrets, and lies? Will adult video still have value in five or ten years?
That's what we want to know.
Review: TMY-011 is a documentary-like work that covers the hierarchical relationships among AV actresses of different castes, including single, Kikatan(independent), and planning. This is a serious work that depicts the inner lives of AV actresses and the problems of the Japanese AV industry, including conflicts with other actresses, obsession with popularity, friction with directors, and anxiety about the future.
The video is long, but it also has a lot of dialogue. Also, there were too many hard-coded subtitles in the video, so I translated only about 30 minutes and gave up on the rest. In terms of how much dialogue there is, the number of words is about 5 times higher than in a normal work.
