Review: While it's great to see such a strong focus on detail, like making sure all the married characters wear wedding rings, the lack of the father-in-law's presence seems to suggest that the mother-in-law might have been better off without a ring. The way information is conveyed visually could be improved. From a costume perspective, the middle section where the older sister-in-law develops jealousy towards her younger sister could use a different portrayal. Maybe show her wanting to be seen as a woman through her choice of lingerie, rather than lingering in her unattractive phase.
The script and direction are full of borrowed elements that don't add up to an original story. The ending about the pregnancy is a bit weak because there wasn't enough foreshadowing, and the lack of a sense of immorality doesn't really resonate. If it were to become a series, adding depth to the background relationships could really enhance the drama. For instance, the fight with the husband that led to the runaway could be related to attempts at conceiving, or the consequences of abstinence and how the mother-in-law and wife overly rely on the son-in-law to care for the sister-in-law. Without this additional layer of character development, it risks remaining a mere imitation.
